ATHENS & DELPHI

incl.1-Day Cruise to Hydra-Poros-Aegina
from April to October 2026 (6 Days / 5 Nights)

Athens is the capital and the largest city in Greece. It dominates the Attica region and is one of the world’s oldest cities, with its recorded history spanning over 3,400 years, with the earliest human presence starting somewhere between the 11th and 7th millennium BC. Athens got one of the most glorious histories in the world. A city worshipped by gods and people alike. The enchanting capital of Greece has been the birthplace of civilization. It is the city where democracy was born as well as most of the wise men of ancient times.

Delphi, lying on the slopes of Mount Parnassus, is one of the most famous historic sites in Greece, known throughout the ancient Greek world and beyond as the sanctuary of Apollo and the shrine of his oracle. Ancient Greeks believed that Delphi was the Navel of the Earth, a place seen as a spiritual focal point for all Greeks; it included many sanctuaries and the most prestigious oracle (Pythia) in all of ancient Greece. Today a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Delphi ranks on par with the Acropolis in Athens as one of the top tourist attractions of the Classical period of ancient Greece.

Hydra, one of the most exclusive and romantic islands in the Saronic Gulf. A true pearl unique by its scenery. Hydra is a “car-free” island meaning that no vehicles are allowed, the only means of transportation are the cute island donkeys. Poros is an island with rich history, archaeological and cultural heritage, and it’s considered a prime gem stone among the Greek islands. Poros Town looks like a cheery lakeside resort. Its pastel-hued houses stack up the hillside to a clock tower, the Neoclassical architecture and the lovely port, all make up for a vibrant first impression. Aegina has a rich history and many archaeological and architectural landmarks. Along with its wonderful pistachio groves and olive tree landscapes, as well as with the numerous charming fishing villages and quiet golden beaches, Aegina is one of the favourite destinations among the Greek islands.

Itinerary

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN ATHENS

Arrival in Athens, transfer to your hotel.

DAY 2: ATHENS SIGHTSEEING

This tour gives you an opportunity to observe the striking contrasts that make Athens such a fascinating city. Our expert guides take you to the centre of the city, Constitution Square (Syntagma), the House of Parliament, the Memorial to the Unknown Soldier and the National Library. Driving down Herod Atticus Street, you will see the Evzones in their picturesque uniform and the Presidential Palace. On our way to the Acropolis, you will see the Handrian’s Arch, we will visit the Temple of Olympian Zeus and we will make a short stop at the Panathinaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games of the modern era were held in 1896!

Moving on to the Acropolis we will visit many architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens. The Propylaea, The Temple of Athena Nike, The Erechtheion, and finally “the harmony between material and spirit”, the monument that “puts order in the mind”, The Parthenon. We round up our tour in Athens with a must-visit at the Museum of Acropolis. Transfer to out hotel.

DAY 3: DAY-CRUISE TO HYDRA – POROS – AEGINA

Pick up from hotel early in the morning and transfer by coach to the port for embarkation. At 08:15 the cruise ship departs and sails to the island of Hydra, the famous cosmopolitan Greek island with big history and unique architecture, paved streets and imposing mansions. You will spend approximately one-hour free time to explore this unique island.

Embarkation and sail to the island of Poros, separated from Peloponnese by a narrow strait, offering the most enchanting view of Poros town. Enjoy an evergreen island with unsurpassed natural beauty, surrounded by thousands of pine trees. Leisure time in Poros for approximately 60 minutes.

After two hours trip, we shall arrive to the last stop, the island of Aegina, where there will be enough time to make an optional tour visiting the Temple of Afea or to discover the picturesque town of the island on your own. Being the first capital of modern Greece is one of the most beautiful islands, well known for its culture, religious sites as well as the famous pistachios. Total free time to be spent is one and a half hour.

Lunch is served on board during the sail. Re-embarkation and sailing back to the port of Athens. Arrive late in the afternoon and transfer by coach back to your hotel.

DAY 4: DELPHI DAY-TOUR

Drive through the fertile plain of Beotia, crossing the towns of Thebes connected with the tragedy of King Oedipus – Levadia and Arachova (short stop on the way back). Arrive in Delphi, the center of Ancient World – the “Omphalos” (Navel of Earth) – whose prestige extended far beyond the boundaries of the Hellenic World.

On the slopes of Mount Parnassus, in a landscape of unparalleled beauty and majesty, meet the ruins of the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios. Visit the Treasury of the Athenians, the Temple of Apollo and the Museum containing masterpieces of Ancient Greek sculpture as the bronze Charioteer and the famous athlete Aghias. Lunch in a local restaurant and return to our hotel in Athens.

DAY 5: FREE DAY IN ATHENS

Free day at leisure. Discover Athen’s shopping areas, enjoy your lunch and café, dine out in style, enjoy yourself through a variety of nightlife places!

DAY 6: END OF TOUR

Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
