Day 1: Arrival – Kavala
Arrival at ‘Makedonia’ Airport in Thessaloniki, transfer by bus to Kavala, and check-in our hotel. We will visit St Paul’s memorial monument, the old city, the late-medieval Acropolis-Castle and the impressive 16th century Aqueduct. Finally, we will observe the neoclassical mansions and big tobacco warehouses at a city that was known as the “Mecca of tobacco”. Overnight stay in Kavala.
Day 2: Philippi – Lydia – Amphipolis - Thessaloniki
Transfer to the archaeological site of Philippi (listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site). Philippi was a vibrant Hellenistic city and the first place in Europe where Christianity was preached by Saint Paul. On our way to Thessalonica, we’ll also visit the Archeological Site of Amphipolis. Arrival at Thessaloniki, where we will visit the Rotunda, a massive 4th century AD dome embellished with high quality mosaics and the neighboring Arch of Galerius. Overnight stay in Thessaloniki.
Day 3: Thessaloniki
Visit to the award-winning Museum of Byzantine Culture and the White Tower on the waterfront of Thessalonica, which is the emblem of the city. We will visit the Upper Town (Ano Poli), the most traditional part of the city. There we will observe the Heptapyrgion and visit the Tower of Trigonion to admire both the medieval architecture and the spectacular view. Visit to the Church of Saint Demetrius that has been used continuously since the 4th century AD. Overnight stay in Thessaloniki.
Day 4: Thessaloniki
Visits on the Jewish Museum and on the Museum of Macedonian Struggle. Short break at Aristotle’s Square, the connection link between the architectural history of Thessaloniki and its modern style. Our next stop is the Roman Forum, the ancient center of political and public life, and Hagia Sophia, an impressive 8th century AD domed basilica (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Overnight stay in Thessaloniki.
Day 5: Thessaloniki – Vergina – Pella – Ioannina
Transfer to the archeological site of Pella, the glorious capital of the ancient Macedonia kingdom, where Alexander the Great was born. Our next visit will be at a Winery in Naoussa, where you will see one of the largest aging cellars. We will continue with a visit at the archaeological site of Vergina-Aigai (UNESCO World Heritage Site). We will also visit the Palace, considered to be not only the biggest but, together with the Parthenon, the most significant building of classical Greece. Transfer and overnight stay in Ioannina.
Day 6: Ioannina
Visit the Fortress of Ioannina that has been influenced by many cultures over hundreds of years. There we will visit the Byzantine Museum, the Treasury, the Aslan Pasha Mosque Museum and Fetiye mosque. Afterwards we’ll board on a boat and transfer to the small island in the lake of Ioannina, where we’ll visit the museum associated to Ali Pasha and observe the picturesque houses. Overnight stay in Ioannina.
Day 7: Zagorohoria – Kalampaka
Departure for the picturesque and stunning Zagori villages. It is a mountainous area with intense & unspoiled greenery and landscapes, tall mountains, many rivers, forests, stone built bridges, a deep gorge and 52 dazzling traditional villages. We will visit two of the most important and impressive, namely Tsepelovo and Monodendri. Transfer and overnight stay in Kalabaka.
Day 8: Kalampaka – Meteora – Volos
Visit to Meteora, one of the most impressive and peculiar places in Greece. Meteora consists of a cluster of huge dark rocks, on tops of which some of the most spectacularly monasteries in the Orthodox world are built, and it is included in UNESCO lists of World Heritage. We will visit and explore 3 of the most impressive and significant monasteries, namely Varlaam, Great Meteoron and St. Stephen. Transfer and overnight in Volos.
Day 9: Volos – Pelion - Thessaloniki
Visit to the Archaeological Museum of Volos, where artifacts from the Geometrical Period (Argonaut Expedition, Trojan War etc) to the early Christian Byzantine period are exhibited. We’ll then visit Pelion Mountain, the legendary homeland of Chiron the Centaur, tutor of Jason, Achilles, Theseus and Hercules among others. There we’ll visit two picturesque villages, Makrinitsa and Portaria. Return to Thessaloniki, dinner and overnight stay.
Next day transfer to the airport and return home unless you choose to extend your holidays!

The largest and most important monastic state in the Orthodox East is also named ‘the garden of the Virgin Mary’. The monastic state of Athos, which occupies the easternmost, wildest ‘leg’ of the three-pronged Halkidiki peninsula, Mount Athos is the second-most important religious place of pilgrimage, after Jerusalem, for the more than 300 million Orthodox Christians worldwide.
Now hosting 20 monasteries, Mount Athos forms an autonomous region within the Greek state, while spiritually it falls under the jurisdiction of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople. Although it is dedicated to the Virgin Mary, all females are forbidden entry. But any adult may visit the Holy Mountain, regardless of faith or nationality, simply by obtaining a Diamonitirion or residence permit.

Skiathos - Skopelos - Alonnisos
Skiathos is famous for the golden beaches, the green nature and the vivid atmosphere, Skiathos Greece is a favourite destination for both youth and families. Skopelos is a handsome island of pine forests, vineyards, olive groves, and orchards of plums and almonds, which find their way into many local dishes. Alonnisos rises from the sea in a mountain of greenery, with stands of Aleppo pine, kermes oak, mastic and arbutus bushes, vineyards, olive and fruit trees, threaded with perfumy patches of wild herbs.
