The Island of Venus

Cyprus is an island of unique beauty, with sandy beaches enclosed by rugged cliffs, cool cedar forests, scented orange groves and gentle meadows blanketed in wildflowers.
According to the myth the Greek goddess of love and beauty, Aphrodite, rose from the coast of Cyprus. Cyprus is the third largest island in the Mediterranean, and occupies the north eastern part of the Mediterranean basin, close to Europe, Asia and Africa.
Day 1: Athens/Thessaloniki - Larnaka
Departure from either Athens or Thessaloniki. Flight with Aegean for Larnaca. Arrival after two hours and transfer to the hotel. In the evening we will have some free timer and walk to the old town of Nicosia, for a first feel of the city.
Day 2: Nicosia
After breakfast, we will depart for Nicosia, the divided capital of Cyprus, the city surrounded by Venetian walls, and the old town within the walls. Visit to the Cathedral of St. John with its wonderful frescoes, at the Archdiocese, the center of folk art and craftsmanship. Following the green line we arrive at the Tomb of Macedonitissa, the monument of the fallen Greeks from the Turkish invasion. Visit to the imprisoned memorials, where the graves of the brave resistors are located. Time free in the stunning market of the city. Dinner, overnight stay.
Day 3: Paphos
Breakfast and departure for a day trip to Paphos. Crossing the Fassouri vineyards and orange groves, we reach the Knights’ Tower in Kolossi. The road then brings us to the ancient theater of Kourio and to the Rock of Romi, where the goddess of beauty and love Aphrodite emerged during the tradition through the foams of the waves. We arrive in Paphos, where we will take a tour of the Dionysus Mansion, with the splendid mosaics and the column of Apostle Paul. Visit to the Metropolis of Paphos and the Holy Monastery of Salamitissa. At noon we end up at the picturesque harbor of Kato Paphos and offer you a meal (exedu) in the picturesque taverns with traditional fishermen. In the afternoon return to the hotel. Dinner & Overnight stay.
Day 4: Troodos (Monastery Cyprus)
Full day excursion to Troodos mountain resorts. Through verdant ravines and picturesque villages we reach the Monastery of Kykkos. Visit to the tomb of Ethniki Makarios. Then passing through Pedoula – Prodromos, we ascend to Troodos. Pilgrimage to Troodotissa Monastery. Quite a little further, we are expecting plazas of Platres, the most renowned resort in the Middle East. Return to our hotel, dinner, overnight.
Day 5: Derinia - Ammochostos - Larnaka
Breakfast and departure from Limassol for excursions to Agia Napa and Larnaca. Passing from Pila, the only mixed village, we arrive at Deryneia, the point where the two lads were murdered by the Turks. From the observatory we will see “Famagusta’s Neighboring City”. In Agia Napa we will see the magnificent Venetian Monastery. We continue for the beautiful city of Larnaca to see the church of Ag. Lazarus and admire the beach with the Phinikoudes. Time free for food and coffee. Transfer to Larnaca airport where we board the return flight.
